We had our first student laptop that got severely damaged by accident. Luckily, they purchase insurance from Safeware which protects both the student and the district. We have had accidents before and will again.

You should call Ontrack or Vantage and ask about data recovery.

We had a student who forgot and left his laptop on the top of his car. Later after it fell off, someone ran over it.
